'Conditions not best for javelin throwers': Neeraj Chopra after reaching CWG 2026 final

Neeraj Chopra qualified for the men's javelin throw final at the Commonwealth Games 2026 with a best throw of 79.61m at Scotstoun Stadium.

Chopra cited cold and changing winds as tough conditions, noting no athlete hit the automatic qualification mark.

In the final, Chopra will face defending champion Arshad Nadeem, world champion Keshorn Walcott, former world champion Anderson Peters, and Sri Lanka's Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage.

India's Rohit Yadav and Yash Vir Singh also qualified, giving India three medal hopes in the final.

Chopra praised Pathirage as one of the brightest young talents in javelin.
