'Ready to face death': Pappu Yadav defiant after FIR over Ram Temple donation 'theft' skit
Independent MP Pappu Yadav (Rajesh Ranjan) remained defiant after Varanasi Police registered an FIR against him, Rahul Gandhi, and Awadhesh Prasad over a Parliament skit depicting theft of Ram Temple donations.
The skit showed Yadav, dressed as a temple priest, pocketing donations from a collection box, which prompted complaints from BJP leaders including Bansuri Swaraj.
Yadav said he is 'ready to face death' to protect the faith of Sanatan and India, and questioned why he couldn't wear saffron, adding that Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi were not afraid of FIRs.
A second complaint was filed against Yadav by petitioner Surya Maithil at Jehangirpuri Police Station in Delhi.
The controversy comes ahead of Uttar Pradesh elections, where the BJP has been in power since 2017.
