Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) in Mumbai postponed its 86th convocation ceremony scheduled for August 2.
The postponement was announced via email to graduating students shortly after midnight, citing 'uncertain circumstances'.
The institute cited potential disruptions from the nationwide movement led by Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) due to the presence of invited dignitaries.
Justice Surya Kant was invited as chief guest, and Acting Chief Justice Ravindra Ghuge as guest of honour.
Students expressed anger as many had already booked travel and accommodation for the ceremony.
