Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) postponed its 86th annual convocation hours before the event, citing unforeseen circumstances.
The convocation was scheduled for August 2, with Chief Justice of India Surya Kant as chief guest and Bombay High Court Acting Chief Justice Ravindra Ghuge as distinguished guest.
In an email sent at 12:50 am, TISS informed students of the postponement, causing financial losses for many who traveled to Mumbai.
Students and families incurred significant costs for travel and accommodation, and some had taken leave from work.
TISS expressed regret and said a revised date would be shared, but students were upset over the last-minute communication.
