Mitch McConnell: Gov. Andy Beshear slams Rand Paul over Fancy Farms criticism as 'autopen' row continues

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, a Democrat, was absent from the Fancy Farm picnic to attend his son's baseball tournament; Republican Senator Rand Paul criticized him from the stage, saying Beshear 'will be remembered for being neutered at every turn by the Republican legislature.'

Beshear responded on social media, ridiculing Paul's comment and questioning Republicans' silence on Senator Mitch McConnell's prolonged Senate absence since a June 12 fall.

The 'autopen' row involves allegations that McConnell's signature on a July disaster declaration letter was made via an autopen machine by his chief of staff, Terry Carmack, while McConnell is rehabilitating at George Washington Hospital.

The disaster letter, signed by Beshear, McConnell, Rand Paul, and Representative Andy Barr, requested President Donald Trump approve a major disaster declaration for recent floods in Kentucky.
