Mitch McConnell's office declined to confirm whether his signature on a July 28 letter to Donald Trump was handwritten or made using an autopen.
The letter, signed by McConnell and Kentucky's congressional delegation, urged Trump to approve Governor Andy Beshear's request for a Major Disaster Declaration after flooding and tornadoes killed six Kentuckians.
McConnell, 84, has not been seen publicly since being hospitalized on June 14, fueling speculation about his health.
The Daily Beast reported that McConnell's office did not answer whether the signature was by hand or autopen.
