China CEO fires employee for excluding mother from wedding

Cui Peijun, founder and chairman of Henan Kuangshan Crane Co, fired an employee for not inviting his mother to his wedding because he was ashamed of her appearance.

Cui is known as 'China's most generous boss' for giving 180 million yuan ($26 million) in year-end bonuses to employees in February 2026.

The employee later apologized, but Cui stood by his decision, saying, 'I have no respect for you. I'm sorry, but you must leave.'

After the employee's mother retired, Cui offered her a job in the company's logistics department with the same pay as her previous job.
