Chinese founder fires employee, hires his mother

Cui Peijun, founder of Henan Mining Crane Co. Ltd, fired an employee who did not invite his mother to his wedding because he was ashamed of her looks.

Cui noticed the employee's mother sitting alone outside during the wedding and learned the reason from the employee.

After firing the employee, Cui offered the employee's mother a job at the company.

The employee later returned and knelt to ask for another chance, but Cui refused.

The incident has sparked debate in China about workplace values, filial piety, and workers' rights.
