Protests continue across city despite FIRs, detentions, notices

Scores of students and youngsters gathered at Shivaji Park, Mankhurd, Kalina and Ghatkopar on Thursday despite police filing at least 16 FIRs and issuing notices.

At Shivaji Park, nearly 200 protesters assembled around 4pm; police detained some and cleared the area by 5:30pm.

In Mankhurd, protestors gathered at Samvidhan Chowk in Lallubhai Compound; police detained the group and later released them without registering an FIR.

Around 100 students protested at the University of Mumbai’s Kalina campus, organized by Chhatrabharati in support of Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi’s Maharashtra bandh call.
