Phil Collins opens up about dealing with alcoholism

Phil Collins was hospitalized in November 2023 due to alcoholism and was on the brink of death, with loved ones coming to say goodbye.

His kidneys and organs were failing, and he spent 7 months in the hospital, which prompted him to completely stop drinking.

Collins said 'I was very lucky to have come out of that' and has not had a drink since his hospitalization.

His divorce from Orianne Cevey in 2006 led to a period of heavy drinking, and he has been sober for three years.

Health issues, including diabetes diagnosed in 2016 and neck/spinal injuries, have prevented him from playing the drums properly.
