Phil Collins recalls near-death experience in 2024 due to alcohol addiction

Phil Collins was hospitalized in late 2023 in Switzerland for alcohol addiction and later re-hospitalized in intensive care, with his organs failing.

During the near-death incident, his five children rushed to the hospital, and family members considered whether to keep him on life support.

Collins said, "My kidneys were packing up, my organs were just seizing up," and that "People were coming to say goodbye."

He has abstained from alcohol since the 2024 hospitalization and expresses gratitude for surviving.

At 75, he hopes to find love again, saying "I'd love to be in love again," and he is set to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a solo artist on November 14, 2026, at Peacock Theatre, Los Angeles.
