'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' replaces 'Jana Nayagan'
in5points
Pro-Kannada organisations protested screenings of Thalapathy Vijay's 'Jana Nayagan' in Bengaluru over the Kaveri water-sharing dispute.
Screenings were halted at Poornima, Urvashi, and other single-screen theatres; 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' was shown instead.
Theatre managements removed Vijay's cut-outs and promotional banners after the protests.
This is the second disruption for 'Jana Nayagan' in Karnataka; earlier screenings at Gurushree Theatre in Mandya were cancelled.
The film collected Rs 3.55 crore net in India on Day 9, with a worldwide gross of Rs 268.45 crore after nine days.
