India to play Brazil in Kolkata football friendly
India will face Brazil in an international friendly at Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata on October 3.
The All India Football Federation (AIFF) confirmed the fixture on Thursday.
Brazil are currently ranked fifth in the world, the highest-ranked team India has faced since the FIFA World Ranking system began in 1992.
Brazil, captained by Marquinhos and featuring Casemiro and Matheus Cunha, will travel to India after friendlies against Australia.
AIFF deputy secretary general M Satyanarayan called the match an extraordinary moment and a landmark chapter in Indian football history.
