Instagram travel page operators booked after Devkund deaths
Police registered an FIR under Sections 223 and 45 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against operators of seven Instagram travel pages.
The operators allegedly promoted and organized visits to Devkund waterfall despite a monsoon ban under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita.
Two men, Gopal Rathod (23) and Vishnu Dhok (24), drowned at Devkund on July 14, 2026.
The prohibitory order barred entry to Devkund Waterfall, Secret Point, and surrounding one-kilometer radius from July 1 to September 30.
The Instagram pages continued posting promotional videos encouraging tourists to visit during the ban.
