2 young tourists drown in separate incidents on same day in Kalu River

Two young tourists drowned in separate incidents on the same day in Kalu River at Malshej Ghat.

The victims were 20-year-old engineering student Raman Vijay Annapure and 18-year-old Pavan Sham Sathe.

Both were swept away by strong river currents while accompanying friends to enjoy monsoon rains near Kalu Waterfall.

Continuous rainfall increased the river's water level, making currents extremely strong and unpredictable.

Authorities issued appeals for tourists to avoid entering rivers and waterfalls during the monsoon after the twin tragedies.
