Pune: Two Youths Drown Hours Apart In Separate Incidents At Malshej Ghats Kalu River

Two youths drowned hours apart in separate incidents at Kalu River near Malshej Ghats on Saturday.

Pavan Sham Sathe, an 18-year-old from Buldhana district, drowned around 1:30 pm after a sudden rise in water level due to heavy rainfall.

Raman Vijay Annapure, a 20-year-old engineering student from Nanded district, drowned around 3:30 pm while attempting to cross the Kalu River.

Both victims were visiting Kalu waterfall with friends and were swept away by strong river currents.

Police urged tourists to avoid rivers, waterfalls, and overflowing streams during monsoon due to sudden life-threatening water level rises.
