'Kya jugalbandi hai': AAP's swipe at BJP, Cong as Rahul Gandhi leads sit-in outside PM's residence over CJP protest
AAP alleged a 'jugalbandi' (partnership) between BJP and Congress after Congress launched a sit-in outside PM Narendra Modi's residence over the CJP protest.
Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and Mallikarjun Kharge held the sit-in at 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, demanding resignations of PM Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah, and education minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Congress declined an outreach attempt by Union minister Jitendra Singh, who urged the party to call off the sit-in.
The CJP, an online satirical outfit formed after CJI Surya Kant's alleged 'cockroaches' remark, has been protesting at Jantar Mantar since June 21, demanding Pradhan's removal over the NEET (UG) paper leak and CBSE online marking controversy.
The protest intensified after Delhi Police removed climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, who had been fasting at the site since June 28, on July 18.
