TN govt considering proposal for weekly chicken biryani in school meals: Minister Rajmohan

Tamil Nadu Minister for School Education Rajmohan said the government is considering a proposal to serve chicken biryani once a week under the noon-meal scheme.

The proposal has been submitted to Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, who is currently reviewing it.

The government also plans to revamp the school breakfast menu, replacing repetitive items like wheat and rava upma with more nutritious alternatives.

Rajmohan accused the Union government of withholding educational funds over policy and language disputes.

The current allocation for the noon meal is approximately ₹15 per student.
