Soman Rana, Shubham Juyal secure top two finish in men's shot put F57; win gold and silver at CWG 2026

Soman Rana won gold in the men's shot put F57 final at the Commonwealth Games 2026 with a best throw of 13.40m.

Shubham Juyal won silver with a best throw of 13.28m, achieved on his sixth and final attempt.

Cameroon's Cedric Idriss Lezeko Azamdi won bronze with a best throw of 12.57m.

Rana, an Indian Army veteran who lost his leg in a landmine explosion in 2006, has previously competed at the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Paralympics.

Juyal's silver is his first major international medal after overcoming a career-threatening setback.
