Basic education director Anil Bhushan Chaturvedi warned BSAs of 11 UP districts to expedite removal of 11,000-volt high-tension lines over schools.
Nearly 2 lakh students in 3,890 government primary and upper primary schools across UP remain at risk.
Removal is coordinated with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) after a statewide exercise began following a 2019 Balrampur incident where 55 children were injured.
Prayagraj has the most affected schools (270), followed by Jaunpur (267) and Basti (227).
Affected schools dropped from 9,009 to 3,890 after lines were removed from 5,119 schools.
