'Batwara 1947' trailer: Sunny Deol's fierce avatar revisits the horrors of partition

Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Aamir Khan Productions, the film is inspired by Asghar Wajahat's play 'Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya, O Jamya E Nai'.

Sunny Deol plays a character who stands as a symbol of courage amid violence, with a notable dialogue: 'Iraada toh nahi par aitraaz bhi nahi hai'.

The film features music by A.R. Rahman and lyrics by Javed Akhtar, with a cast including Karan Deol and Abhimanyu Singh.

Set for release on August 14, 2026, it marks the reunion of Santoshi and Deol after nearly three decades.
