Several dead as fire erupts at Brussels construction site, search underway for missing persons

A fire erupted at a construction site on Place de Brouckere in Brussels on Tuesday.

Several people were killed and at least six workers are missing.

At least 200 workers were on site when the fire broke out.

Bodies of two or three workers were found in an elevator cabinet, according to labour inspection spokesman Brecht Speybrouck.

The fire initially contained on lower floors spread through elevator shafts to an underground floor.
