Maharashtra Govt To Shift CMs Office To Iconic Air India Building At Nariman Point
The Maharashtra government will move the Chief Minister's Office to the iconic Air India building at Nariman Point to address space shortage at Mantralaya.
The government purchased the 23-storey Air India building from the Centre for around Rs 1,601 crore last month.
The 23rd floor (5,611 sq ft) will house the Chief Minister's Office, and the 22nd floor (13,363 sq ft) will have a Cabinet Hall.
Renovation is underway; top two floors will be prioritized so the CMO and Cabinet Hall can become operational within 3-4 months.
The move will consolidate departments like Health, Medical Education, and Water Supply under one roof, reducing rented office expenditure.
