Sonam Wangchuk's fast enters Day 19; weight loss reported

Activist Sonam Wangchuk has lost over 9 kg since beginning an indefinite hunger strike on June 28.

Doctor Satish Lamba warned Wangchuk may soon enter an 'alarming' third stage involving organ damage as the fast enters Day 19.

Wangchuk's current health metrics: blood sugar 80 mg/dL, pulse 72 bpm, blood pressure 105/61 mmHg (lying), weight 56.9 kg.

Lamba noted elevated uric acid levels indicating muscle breakdown, and a 'wait and watch' approach is being taken for potential organ involvement.

Wangchuk has refused to end the fast despite appeals, stating that doing so without government response would send the wrong message.
