TDRF jawan dies in pothole crash on Mumbai-Nashik highway

A 31-year-old TDRF jawan, Vikas Gore, died after his motorcycle hit a pothole on the Mumbai-Nashik Highway early Monday.

Gore had participated in rescue operations at the Bhiwandi building collapse three days earlier.

The accident occurred on the Bharangi river bridge while Gore was riding from his village to Asangaon railway station.

Police Mitra Hamid Sheikh said the stretch between Kasara Ghat and Padgha is riddled with potholes, and concerns were raised previously but no action was taken.

TDRF commandant Sachin Dubey said Gore joined the force in 2019 and played a key role in the Kohinoor Apartment collapse rescue.
