Delhi HC seeks government's response on plea seeking medical intervention for Sonam Wangchuk
Delhi High Court sought responses from the Centre and Delhi government on a PIL seeking medical intervention for climate activist Sonam Wangchuk.
Sonam Wangchuk has been on an indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar since June 28, demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over examination irregularities.
The PIL filed by activist-lawyer Rakesh Kumar Saini requests the court to direct shifting Wangchuk to a government hospital for medically supervised treatment, including force-feeding if necessary.
Wangchuk has lost around 8.5 kg since beginning the fast, raising health concerns.
