Vir Das loses role in Iñárritu's 'Digger'

Vir Das auditioned twice for Alejandro G. Iñárritu's film 'Digger' but lost the role to Riz Ahmed.

Tom Cruise stars as Digger Rockwell, a CEO who triggers a global disaster and tries to convince humanity he is their saviour.

Cruise undergoes a physical transformation with a beer belly, thinning white hair, and a thick Southern accent.

John Goodman plays an ailing US president; Jesse Plemons, Sandra Hüller, and Sophie Wilde are also in the cast.

'Digger' is set for theatrical release on October 2.
