Indian actors who nearly landed role in Tom Cruise's 'Digger'

Vir Das revealed in a now-deleted X post that he auditioned for the role of Riz Ahmed in Alejandro G. Iñárritu's 'Digger'.

Fahadh Faasil dropped out of the film due to accent and relocation issues, as he told Cue Studio in August 2025.

Fahadh Faasil was in talks with Iñárritu but declined because the production wouldn't pay for him to stay in the US to perfect his accent.

'Digger' is a satirical comedy starring Tom Cruise, Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, and Sandra Hüller, written by Iñárritu and others.

The film is Iñárritu's first English-language movie since 'The Revenant' (2015).
