UEFA turns up heat on Infantino after FIFA's $20 billion World Cup plan collapse
FIFA abandoned a proposed $20 billion company involving private investors for its commercial businesses, including the men's and women's World Cups and Club World Cups.
UEFA, led by president Aleksander Ceferin, said it had lost confidence in FIFA's leadership and called for accountability over the failed proposal.
UEFA criticized the lack of transparency behind the plan, stating 'No option should be off the table' and that 'faceless individuals' cooked up 'secret schemes'.
The proposal faced opposition from UEFA's 55 member associations, as well as football bodies in North America and Asia.
UEFA said it would work with member associations and other confederations to understand how the proposal emerged and prevent such situations from recurring.
