Donald Trump says he never discussed Infantino's World Cup proposal as FIFA later scraps plan
US President Donald Trump denied discussing FIFA's FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE) proposal with FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
FIFA scrapped the FIFA Forward Enterprise plan on Saturday after global opposition, including a UEFA boycott threat, Concacaf and AFC rejection, and senior adviser Carlos Cordeiro's resignation.
The proposal would have created FFE to manage World Cup commercial rights, selling a 20% stake to Thrive Capital, founded by Joshua Kushner, brother of Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner.
Trump made his comments during a cabinet meeting at Camp David, distancing himself from the proposal's links to Thrive Capital.
