US Cyclospora outbreak crosses 4000 cases: Gastroenterologist Dr Salhab shares foods to add and avoid during recovery

A US Cyclospora outbreak has crossed 4,000 cases, many linked to shredded iceberg lettuce from a Taco Bell supplier in Michigan.

CDC issued a food safety alert for Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia advising against the implicated ingredient.

Gastroenterologist Dr. Joseph Salhab recommends hydration with water, electrolyte powders, or oral rehydration solution for recovery.

Dr. Salhab advises easy-to-digest, gut-friendly foods and avoiding certain items to ease diarrhoea symptoms.
