Iran warns 'freeloader' Zelensky after attack on its vessel: 'This strike cannot go unanswered'

Iran warned Ukraine after an attack on an Iranian commercial vessel in the Caspian Sea, with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi saying the strike 'cannot go unanswered'.

The explosion killed one sailor and injured another, according to Iran's Foreign Ministry.

Araghchi discussed the incident with EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Araghchi accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of attacking the vessel 'at Israel's behest' and violating the UN Charter.

Ukraine's Zelensky stated that Kyiv struck vessels carrying military cargo between Iran and Russia under international sanctions.
