Jasprit Bumrah injury saga puts CoE under scanner as selectors left embarrassed before Lanka Tests

India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the two-match Test series in Sri Lanka due to a knee injury sustained during the ODI series in England.

The selection committee, led by Ajit Agarkar, was initially assured by the Centre of Excellence (CoE) that Bumrah would be available for at least one Test.

Senior CoE officials, including VVS Laxman, held a virtual meeting with Ajit Agarkar to discuss concerns over player injury management.

India team physio Kamlesh Jain's role is also likely to come under discussion in a review of the injury management process.
