Rai said he and Akshay Kumar now have a National Award as a team, referencing Kumar's involvement as presenter of the documentary.

Rai learned about the win after leaving an edit room, where his team greeted him with flowers and chocolates.

The documentary marked Rai's first foray into non-feature filmmaking, which he said taught him to keep trying new things.

Rai emphasized that the intent behind the film was pure and that following his instincts paid off.
