Exclusive: Lyricist Manoj Muntashir on National Film Award win, AR Rahman's prediction, and redemption after Adipurush

Manoj Muntashir won his second National Film Award for Best Lyricist for the song 'Jaate Hai Hum Jaane Do' from the film 'Maidaan' (2024) at the 72nd National Film Awards.

Composer AR Rahman predicted the song would win a National Award during its recording.

Muntashir described the win as divine and exhilarating, noting it came after the Adipurush (2023) controversy.

He stated four years after a Hindi song won a National Award, the last being his own, and he does not accept popular TV awards.
