Bihar: Prashant Kishor, BJP's Neeraj Sinha file nomination papers for Bankipur bypoll

Prashant Kishor, founder of Jan Suraaj Party, and BJP's Neeraj Kumar Sinha filed nomination papers for the Bankipur assembly bypoll on July 13, 2026.
The bypoll was necessitated after BJP national president Nitin Nabin vacated the seat; Kishor seeks to wrest the BJP bastion.
Kishor was accompanied by his wife Jahnavi Das, a medical practitioner from Assam, as he made his political debut.
Kishor said the bypoll is a 'referendum' on the NDA government and claimed victory would force Bihar CM Samrat Choudhary, named in a murder case, to step down.
BJP fielded 32-year-old BJYM leader Neeraj Sinha after its earlier candidate Abhishek Kumar 'Bunty' withdrew citing family reasons.
