Complaint by Nikhil Bhamre, Maharashtra BJP's social media coordinator, alleged misuse of an IPS officer's identity and stated the Press Information Bureau (PIB) declared the video fake.
Case registered on July 31 under Section 353(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and relevant Information Technology Act provisions.
