Bengaluru doctor arrested for assulting Bangladeshi couple

Dr Nagendra of Sai Clinic in Bettadasapura-Bellandur was arrested for assaulting a Bangladeshi couple in Whitefield.

Nasreena Bilal, 23, filed a complaint alleging Dr Nagendra beat her and her husband Mohammed Bilal, a driver, saying they were Bangladeshi residents.

Bellandur police arrested Dr Nagendra on Thursday and he was granted bail by the court.

Dr Nagendra said he acted out of emotion due to many illegal immigrants in the area; a heated argument over citizenship preceded the assault.

Police stated Dr Nagendra should have alerted them instead of attacking the couple, and confirmed the victims are from Bangladesh.
