Mumbai Rains: IMD Upgrades Weather Alert To Orange As Heavy Rain Intensifies; Palghar Put Under Red Alert

IMD upgraded Mumbai's weather warning from Yellow Alert to Orange Alert for very heavy rainfall and winds up to 60 kmph.

Palghar was issued a Red Alert for extremely heavy rainfall and strong winds.

Areas including Andheri, Powai, Malad, Kandivali received heavy rainfall with dark clouds persisting.

Authorities warned of possible waterlogging, traffic congestion, and transport delays in low-lying areas.

Rainfall intensity is expected to reduce from Friday, with moderate rain over the weekend.
