India tests Kusha long-range missile system

in5points
India conducted the maiden test of the locally made Kusha long-range surface-to-air missile system on July 24, 2026.
Kusha can intercept aerial threats at distances up to 350 km, within the 150-350 km range band.
The test was conducted by DRDO against a high-speed, high-altitude electronic target from APJ Abdul Kalam Island.
Kusha is designed to neutralize fighter jets, missiles, UAVs, and large aircraft; deployment is expected in three to four years.
Defence minister Rajnath Singh said Kusha will eliminate import dependency for such systems.
