Virar–Bharuch MEMU Derails At Bhilad Station; Western Railway Services Disrupted, Re-Railing Work Underway

Four wheels of the leading Driving Motor Coach of Virar–Bharuch MEMU (Train No. 19101) derailed at Bhilad station at 6:27 am on Tuesday.

No injuries to passengers or railway staff were reported.

Western Railway deployed an Accident Relief Train and equipment from Valsad; re-railing work is underway.

The derailment disrupted Western Railway services, causing delays to several trains and possible route diversions for trains from Gujarat.

The Intercity Express was halted at Virar station for over 30 minutes due to the incident.
