Pakistan star suspended after failing dope test during T20 World Cup
in5points
Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz received a three-month ban for a doping violation during the T20 World Cup.
Nawaz tested positive for Carboxy-THC, a cannabis metabolite, after Pakistan's match against the Netherlands in Colombo on February 7.
The ban will reduce to one month if Nawaz completes a substance abuse treatment program to the ICC's satisfaction.
Nawaz admitted the offense, stating the substance was used out-of-competition and unrelated to performance enhancement.
His match records from February 7 to May 1 have been disqualified under the ICC Anti-Doping Code.
