Brain behind APK-enabled frauds worth ₹63 cr arrested from West Bengal

SK Mandal, a graduate from Jharkhand, was arrested from a hotel in West Bengal for cyber frauds worth ₹63 crore.

Mandal created APK files to gain remote access to victims' phones and steal from bank accounts.

He sold at least 91 APK files to cyber fraud gangs for ₹15,000-25,000 each.

The frauds included targeting Mahanagar Gas customers during the LPG crisis in West Asia.

Police recovered 10 mobile phones, a laptop, 967 APK files, and banking details of 37,000 people from Mandal.
