Bengaluru man held for killing 61-year-old neighbour, stealing her jewellery

year-old Amit Raje Gowda was arrested for allegedly killing 61-year-old neighbour Jayamma.

Jayamma was reported missing on July 16; she visited Raje's house on July 15 to make a phone call.

Raje allegedly strangled Jayamma, stole her gold jewellery, hid her body in a suitcase, and dumped it in Ramohalli Lake.

He joined locals searching for the missing woman to divert suspicion but was caught via technical evidence and CCTV footage.

Police recovered the body and are tracing the stolen ornaments; investigation is ongoing under BNS provisions.
