'If I denotify, I will have to be in jail': DK Shivakumar blames HD Kumaraswamy as shadow-boxing over Bidadi township intensifies
Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar defended land acquisition for Bidadi AI-powered township, blaming former CM HD Kumaraswamy for initiating the project.
Shivakumar stated that denotifying the acquisition would put him in jail, as the process is already advanced with 70% of landowners accepting compensation.
The project spans about 9,600 acres near Bidadi, 40km from Bengaluru, and has sparked protests from farmers opposing the acquisition of fertile agricultural land.
Shivakumar claimed Kumaraswamy and BJP were original architects, with Kumaraswamy starting acquisition and offering the project to DLF, which later withdrew after paying Rs 400 crore.
Shivakumar said his government has ruled out relocating villages, unlike the earlier plan, and is not compelling any farmer to give land.
