'Honey trap' angle emerges in Bengal Jaish probe; woman arrested from Jharkhand
West Bengal Police's STF arrested Arpita Sarkar from Jharkhand's Sahibganj district for allegedly helping Jaish-e-Mohammed operative Mohammad Hamim Mondal run a honey trap network.
Sarkar is accused of collecting sensitive personal information about political leaders in West Bengal, using WhatsApp contact with Mondal, with chats recovered.
Mondal was arrested on Thursday from Bardhaman town, suspected to be part of an ISI-backed Jaish-e-Mohammed network targeting VIPs, including BJP leaders.
The investigation is ongoing to determine the full extent of the network and whether the information was intended for terror attacks or other anti-national activities.
