A copywriter on Reddit reported his monthly earnings dropped from ₹2 lakh to ₹40,000 after his employer replaced human roles with AI-driven systems in 2026.

The Reddit user, who had freelanced for eight years and earned ₹2 lakh monthly at age 22, lost his job when companies adopted AI-powered tools.

He now works at a Hyderabad-based marketing agency handling campaigns for Telangana Tourism, but says the pay cut and workplace culture have affected his motivation.

Reddit users advised him to upskill in AI-related skills, rebuild his freelance business, and expand his network, noting that his talent could help him earn similarly again.
