McConnell conscious, issues statement after Graham's death

Mitch McConnell released a statement praising the late Senator Lindsey Graham as a 'good friend and a great American' while recovering in the hospital.

Lindsey Graham died unexpectedly on July 11, 2026, at age 71, due to an aortic dissection from arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease, per the D.C. Medical Examiner.

McConnell disclosed that he was hospitalized on June 14 after a fall that left him 'briefly unconscious,' ruling out stroke or heart attack, and also treated for mild pneumonia.
