CM Devendra Fadnavis Lays Foundation Stone For Annabhau Sathe Training & Research Institute, Calls For Strict

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis laid the foundation stone for the Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe Training and Research Institute (ARTI) and memorial at Chirag Nagar, Ghatkopar, on Friday.

The Rs 305 crore memorial, built by the Mumbai Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA), will include a 20-metre bronze statue, digital gallery, library, skill development centre, and amphitheater.

The project aims to honour Annabhau Sathe's legacy and serve as a research and skill-development hub for underprivileged communities, with completion targeted by July 2029.

Fadnavis emphasized local rehabilitation, stating that all affected residents will be provided housing before construction proceeds, and directed agencies to meet the deadline.

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced Rs 300 crore allocation and said an independent memorial is also being built at Wategaon for Rs 50 crore.
