Nashik: Three Hospitals Booked For ₹1.79 Crore Health Scheme Fraud; Fake Treatment Claims Under Scanner

Three Nashik private hospitals — Shiv Multispeciality and Critical Care Hospital, Nashik Grace Hospital, and Rishikesh Hospital — are accused of fraudulently claiming ₹1.79 crore from government health schemes via fake treatment claims.

The fraud involved creating fake patient records and uploading forged documents to the Jeevandayee portal to obtain reimbursements for treatments never provided, affecting schemes like Ayushman Bharat–PM-JAY and MJPJAY.

A detailed audit ordered by the state government identified 361 suspicious claims from Nashik, and field verification found beneficiaries who never received treatment or had died before the alleged treatment dates.

The Worli Police in Mumbai have registered a criminal case against five office-bearers of the hospitals following a complaint by the Public Health Department.

The alleged fraud amounts per hospital: Shiv Multispeciality (163 cases, ₹71.83 lakh), Nashik Grace (126 cases, ₹62.14 lakh), and Rishikesh (72 cases, ₹45.46 lakh).
